Cranberry Chutney

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups fresh cranberries
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • Brown sugar
  • 1 to 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • Red pepper flakes
  • Nutritional yeast

Directions:

Boil the water, add the cranberries, and cook until they pop. With a potato masher, you can press down on them to help with the process. Drain the cranberries and add just enough brown sugar to soften the tart flavor, but not sweet. Add the salt, and a sprinkling of yeast and red pepper flakes. If you like, a small amount of vegetable broth or onion powder can be added for extra flavor.
