Ginger Almond Pear Recipe



Ingredients:

  • 5 Bartlett pears, peeled, and quartered lengthwise
  • 3 cups apple cider
  • 2 teaspoons fresh ginger, chopped
  • 3 tablespoons arrowroot starch
  • 1/3 teaspoon almond extract
  • Pinch of salt

Directions:

Place the pears in a saucepan with the apple cider, ginger, and salt. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer for about 14 to 16 minutes or until the pears are tender. In a bowl, dissolve the arrowroot in 1/3 cup of water. Add to the simmering pears, stirring until dissolved and thickened. Remove from heat, add in the almond extract, and serve either warm or cold.
