Chocolate Pie
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 6 tablespoons cocoa
- 1/3 cup plus 1 teaspoon cornstarch
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Directions:
In a saucepan, mix the above ingredients. Over medium heat, slowly add:
- 1 1/2 cups skim milk
- 1 1/2 cups canned evaporated skim milk
Cook for 15 to 30 minutes, stirring constantly until the mixture comes to a boil. When the
mixture reaches a boil, allow it to boil for 1 minute, stirring constantly. Divide the
mixture and to one-half add:
Stir until well blended and then add back to the saucepan with the other half. Boil an additional
minute and then add:
Mix well and pour into a prepared piecrust. Place a sheet of wax paper on top of the hot
mixture to prevent cracking. Refrigerate for 24 hours and serve with whipped topping.
